I was thinking of just where am I spiritually? I am rethinking scripture, the value of religion, the purpose of church and what did Jesus really say or mean.
My faith is built upon my love for God and my neighbor and myself and do not do to another that which I would not want done to me.
My faith is not about my becoming perfect but about trusting God to help me find the way in times of worry and distress and to seek guidance for my daily decisions. I look at hard working people at church and feel inadequate actually because I am lazy but just not able to do what I used to do. I believe that God says "You ARE doing what you are meant to do just doing the simple things you do for others; like visiting or phoning or writing.
The problem is when faith becomes an idolatry of reason, which is all about belief and dogma.
I read the Bible as myths, legends, parables and unbelievable tales within which are important lessons to teach us the value of life.

THE ESTABLISHMENT
Christianity was not born as a religion but as a way of life that brought meaning to all of life. They lived their faith not by a set of creeds nor by being a part of the establishment
Faith based on trust not on certainty. People of the way who could expect hardship as well as great joy.
Faith that was humble, slow to judge and compassion for the broken-hearted. This message will be unsettling to those who place their faith in religion that saves by stating certain beliefs.
